Capturing the joy of a child is incredibly gratifying.  They lack false pretenses.. If they are happy they smile and their eyes tend to sing when doing so.  These two little girls were a pleasure to shoot and I’m glad we were able to take advantage of the fall while it’s still here ! :) Here are two of my favs from the shoot….

Today I had the honor of shooting Eryn and Tony for their 1 year wedding anniversary photos.  I’m sure you’ll agree that the love between them is evident in their photos.  These are just a sampling of the hundreds taken today..

Turkey Brook Park in Budd Lake, NJ is the site of a brand new park which includes soccer, baseball fields, etc. As one would expect, this was formerly a farm which dates back to the early the early 1700s.  This building is only one of two which remain on the property.  How could you possibly tear this beauty down???

History: Seward Mansion resides at the opening of Turkey Brook Park. The building was once owned by William H. Seward; a former New York Governor and Secretary of State to Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. The mansion was built in 1858 by Beulah and Henry Seward. The mansion had 9 large rooms, a grand staircase at its center, chandeliers, ornate mantels and a wrap-around porch. Architecturally, it is an example of 18th century stone construction in a mid-Victorian style.

The building is currently undergoing renovation efforts by the Mount Olive Historical Society, sadly it seems like a mere skeleton of its former self.   Too bad I couldn’t get in!!  Note  fence :)

Mount Olive Baptist Meeting House/Church is a place which has long been retired from use, but not from its beauty.  Thankfully, the property is covered under the Green Acres Act of NJ.  This quaint church holds an  old cemetery to it’s left…most headstones are leaning one way and the ground is entirely uneven…spooky? Yes…but more interesting than anything else, I’d say!

The door alone was amazing.. Still can’t tell which layer of paint came first, the red or the green…

Stunning stained glass windows encompass the walls of the church…

I found a hole in one of the windows and decided to take a look see.  As I peered into the window an absolute CHILL filtered out of the window.  My response?  Stick my lenses in! Interesting result..

And the roof was rather nice looking…

The graves… In this first one, I could be wrong, BUT doesn’t it look like there’s a shadow of someone standing in the upper left corner?????

Love how the moss seems to hold this one up…

Driving through Budd Lake, NJ I found a rather interesting abandoned horse barn.  It took everything within my will power to not go inside. ;)

Charming old flood light was located above the door…
